Our vessel is currently trading within the Caribbean area where acquiring fresh water is a challenge and was made even harder due to the pandemic. This led the vessel to implement a strict water discipline.
Consumption of fresh water is limited to our daily necessities and doing our laundry was the chore greatly affected. Vessel's management has made various efforts to combat the said issue. One of which is storing the aircondition condensate to fill in empty drums which can then be used in the manual washing machine which we stationed in the aft. Relying only on the fresh water generator's production contributes less since our vessel call short voyages.
These photos show that despite the fresh water crisis we face onboard plus the usual stress and pressure from our jobs, crew members still find a way to bond and to smile.

There are plenty seafarers with overdue contracts because of the Pandemic. The prohibition of crew change has brought a lot of pain, stress and hunger to everyone. Nevertheless, being on board, I still have hope! Though I may be tired, I am still thankful to eat my meals regularly, receive my monthly salary and move freely on board.
I hope that everybody wont lose their faith and hope that soon, everything will be back to normal.
