During the interview at the launch of the RT-PCR testing facility on Monday, ASec. Vingson said “the Cebu Port will be activated (for crew change) any time soon.”
The DOTr official was among the guests at the official opening of the molecular laboratory at the the premises of the Philippine Ports Authority at Gate 6 Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila.
“Hinihintay na lang natin ang go signal ng local government,” said the former officer-in-charge of the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).
“It will be at Pier 3; naka-ready na,” VAdm. Vingson, also a member of sub-committee on repatriation of the Inter Agency Task Force, said.
He added that Davao would follow. “Sa Sasa Port, (it would be opened) in the third week of October.”
When asked if Batangas Port is still in the pipeline, considering there are now three ports open for crew change in Luzon, he said: “Babalikan natin (ang Batangas) after Sasa sa Davao.”
He said: “we already have Port of Capinpin and Subic kaya na-decongest na Manila. But kung kailangan pa, activate din natin ang Batangas.”
Meanwhile, Transportation officials will be trooping today to Port Capinpin in Orion, Bataan to inaugurate a quarantine facility in the province.
